Hillsborough County Commission Invests $800K in BSAC Program ImprovementsSep 26 2014
The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center is proud to announce its partnership with Hillsborough County in a major youth drowning prevention initiative. The Board of County Commissioners has approved the allocation of $800,000 to assist us in our effots to build a new pool and retrofit our current pool in order to serve more children and families all across Tampa Bay. We are so grateful and humbled to be recognized as leaders in youth drowning prevention, aquatic excellence and community outreach which will all be enhanced through this project. Currently, BSAC is working with the county to set up timelines for the project. Our fundraising efforts for this project have definitely been enhanced with this major contribution, and BSAC is more than thankful for the county's confidence in our organization. To read more about this amazing community opportunity, click on the Osprey Observer article which details how this all came about.
World's Largest Swim LessonJun 24 2014
BSAC, inconjunction with the Copeland and Bobby Hicks pools in Tampa, hosted the World's Largest Swim Lesson and had over 200 swimmers in attendance! Our Team TRIDENT students were in the water, and several members of the Blue Wave Swim Team volunteered to help our team of fabulous swim instructors and lifeguards show just how much fun it is to learn to swim.
And save a life! BSAC would like to thank Hillsborough Fire and Rescue, The Children's Board of HIllsborough County, Bay Care (USF Health) and St.Joe's Hospital for bringing water safety materials and being part of this great day to promote youth drowning prevention. The message - teach your child to swim! Please call Member Services at (813) 689-0908 to register your child today!
