 The BSAC Tennis New Year Local Junior Championship Tournament was held at
The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center on January 23 and 24, 2010. Several of our
HI Performance athletes emerged as winners:

Jack Murphy – Boys 18’s Winner
Lauren Dupuis – Girls 14’s Consolation Final Winner
Ashley Lawrence  and Kylie Moulin, Girls 12’s, who faced off against each other in            
            the Main Draw Final, with Ashley Lawrence emerging as the Winner
David Matthews – Boys 10’s Consolation Final Winner
Savannah Ewing – Girls 16’s Consolation Final Winner

After School All Stars, get ready to rock! Monday, February 1, 2010 kicks off our brand new SAW  curriculum! SAW stands for Sports,
Academics, and the Wheel of elective activities.  Our calendar for February includes The Wii Football Challenge , The "Souper" Bowl Soup
Cook Off, The Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies (featuring flags from around the world), The Winter Olympic Games Field Challenge
and Hockey Tournament, Build Your Basketball Skills Day, Awards Ceremonies, and our Valentine's Day Celebration and Parents' Night Out.
Directed by Executive Director Chuck Burgess and After School All Stars Coordinator Judith Jimenez, we know your child will want to be
part of this program! Each month will bring new and exciting themes, sports, professional tutoring, arts & crafts, and more.  Please contact

Blue Wave Swimmers from Newsome High School Achieve County Swimming Awards

CAM_0048Blue Wave swimmers came in big at The School District of Hillsborough
County Fall Sports Awards Ceremony held Thursday, January 21, 2010 at
the school district offices. Senior Kati Kyle was awarded Female Swimmer of
the Year, and the Newsome Boys Swim Team achieved the High Grade Point
Average award. From left to right:  Kati Kyle-18, Hayden Parker-18, and
Jacob Bukaweski-17. All three students are seniors and Newsome swim team
captains.

Levels 4, 5, and 6 at Chelle Stack's Gymnastics here at BSAC took big wins last weekend, January 9 and 10, at the 2010 Tampa Bay Classic
held at The University of Tampa. The Level 4 Team took first place overall, with an individual all-around first place from Megan Kraatz.
The Level 5 Team took an overall 2nd Place, and The Level 6 Team took an overall first place. Congratulations, Girls!

Jay Baldwin

Jay Baldwin

Jay Baldwin has been a resident of the Brandon community for 18
years. He played competitive tennis at BSAC during high school
and continued as an assistant tennis teaching professional at BSAC
for several summers under the direction of Anne McFee, former
BSAC Executive Director. After attending college he pursued a
career in corporate banking and is currently the president of Aegis
Business Credit. Jay is married with one young daughter and states
that BSAC truly taps into his desire to participate and aid in the
development of an organization whose focus is kids and sports. 
He desires to become a leader in youth development in the Tampa
community.

Alex Patrick

Alex Patrick

Alex Patrick is the Coordinator for Seminaries and
Institutes for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-
Day Saints. He received a bachelor of arts degree from
Arizona State University in 1999 in Secondary
Education Biological Sciences and graduated with
distinction from Northern Arizona Univerity in 2003
with a M.Ed. in Counseling and Human Relations.
Since 2005 he has been serving as the Tampa Insitute
of Religion Director in Tampa. He and his wife Edy
have six children.

Ron Pierce

Ron Pierce

Ron Pierce is the President of the BSAC Board of Directors
and enjoys extensive involvement with many community-related
organizations throughout the Tampa Bay region.  He is the chair-
elect of The Brandon Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
a member of the Hillsborough County Transportation Task Force,
Vice-President of Center Place of Brandon Board of Directors,
among others.  Ron worked in The Florida Legislature from 1998
to 2000, and from 2004 to 2006, he worked as the Policy  Advisor
to Senate President Tom Lee.  Most recently he worked for The
Tampa Bay Lightning organization as the Director of Government
Relations and Community Affairs. He is the owner/President of
RSA Consulting, LLC, and lives in Brandon...

Cindy Wyckoff

Cindy Wyckoff is a Director of Information Technology for
FedEx Corporation. She has 20+ years of experience in
Information Technology and Transportation. She received a
Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Norbert College (Green Bay,
Wisconsin) in Mathematics and Computer Science. She also
received an MBA from The University of South Florida.
She lives in Brandon with her husband, Mike, and two girls,
Kristin and Katy. Her family has been involved in BSAC for
the past 4 years as the girls began in The After School All Stars
Program and then transitioned into their sports. Kristin is on the
Blue Wave Swim Team and Katy is on Chelle Stack's Gymnastics
Team.

Chelle Stack   Chelle is the owner and operataor of Chelle Stack's
Gymnastics, based out of Winter Park, Florida.  She
competed for and graduated from The University of
Oklahoma and was a member of the 1988 Olympic
Team. She performed for four years with Cirue de

Itamar Eylon - Martial Arts Director Martial Arts and Fitness Director Itamar Eylon studied Tae
Kwon Do and Submission Wrestling under Grand Master
Peter Lee out of Daytona Beach.  He is a recent winner of
The National Grappling Tournament (NAGA).  He holds
the ranking of second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do,
and for the past three years has taught martial arts,

Allen Liberato, Tennis Director

Tennis Director Allen Liberato played collegiate tennis at
Villanova University and has been a teaching professional
for more than ten years. He has coached the Girls team at
Academy of Holy Names in Tampa for seven years and was
named Hillsborough County Coach of the Year in 2002.
Allen's teams finished first or second at the District level six
of the seven years. He has coached several All-County players
over the years, and has been at BSAC since 2006. Here at
BSAC he coaches cardio tennis, several adult clinics, and is

Blue Wave Swim Team  Head Coach - Mio Vasic

Mio Vasic, Blue Wave Swim Team Coach Mio Vasic achieved his ASCA Level 3 Age Group coaching
certification in 2001 and has a bachelor's degree in Physical
Education from The University of Louisiana at Monroe. He
has been an age group coach with The Blue Wave Swim Team
since 2002. Under the tutelage of International Olympic Coach
Peter Banks, Mio has helped over 200 swimmers to reach age
group state championships, as well as Junior and Senior
national level meets. In the summer of 2009 he took over the
Blue Wave senior program. He gained his first professional
coaching experience in Ft. Lauderdale where he worked as a
swim instructor...
