Our Vision for the Future of BSAC

The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center (BSAC) is the only family-first sports and recreation facility in the area devoted to building character through athletics by developing today's athletes into tomorror's leaders. The staff at BSAC focuses on the total athlete by developing the mind, soul, heart, and strength, in-turn, creating a stronger foundation, today, for a better world tomorrow. By focusing on the character development, leadership development, spiritual development and physical development of each child that walks through our doors, we know that we are making a positive contribution society, today. Because of our commitment to character development through athletics, BSAC is truly a unique gem in the Tampa Bay community.

We believe that by incorporating the community into the Center's new vision and future plans, you will be more likely to support the Center in its efforts to become a state-of-the-art, world-class facility.

BSAC is one of few facilities in the area offering an outdoor 50-meter Olympic size swimming pool, a dryland training center for divers, year-round swimming lessons, and professional coaching in the areas of swimming, diving, tennis, and gymnastics. Currently BSAC is suited to serve children, teens, and competitive athletes but is in need of a state-of-the-art fitness center for adults and seniors. With the addition of a new fitness facility, we expect exponential growth in membership. In addition to the new fitness center, the current facility will be renovated, while planning to break ground on a new state-of-the-art sports complex, restaurant, and water park designed to reach out to all members of the Tampa Bay community.

We are embarking on a significant capital fundraising campaign seeking to raise funds to renovate the 40-year old facility. Our plans call for transforming the existing gymnasium into a 6,500 square-foot indoor fitness and aerobic center, build a new indoor 25-yard by 25-meter swimming pool, aqua-therapy pool, and a new 50-meter competition pool and platform dive well.

Plans are also being developed to break ground on a new indoor gymnastics complex, a restaurant and food court, and additional tennis courts with state-of-the-art lighting. Renovations are also planned for the current early learning and sports camp facilities. A new outdoor water park for the community is also in the planning process.

New sports camp and early learning facilities will immediately increase the amount of children and teens BSAC is able to service. By having space added to the current sports camp and early learning areas, BSAC will be able to accommodate the needs of home-schooled children, and will also be able to serve the community as a center for continuing adult education.

Tto raise funds, BSAC is turning to both private and corporate citizens in the Tampa Bay area. Additionally, we will soon offer the community the opportunity to get involved through the offering of a pre-construction membership drive. The BSAC board of directors believes that by reaching out to the community, the Center will be able to achieve the goals that have been established for 2005.

There are several opportunities for growth at BSAC and it is our goal to ensure that the growth begins today and continues well into the future. To the left are conceptual drawings of the new Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center, the home of Blue Wave Swimming, Jetstream Diving and Suntwisters Gymnastics.
