Phyllis Skiffington
has been a member of the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center for 17
years, and has been an employee for nine years. Mrs. Skiffington
was appointed as the Director of Membership Services in June of
2004. While in this role she is responsible for addressing and handling
member concerns, recruiting new members, serving as the liaison
between members and the executive director, overseeing the daily
operations of the customer service desk, and managing and buying
merchandise for the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Centers Proshop.
Mrs. Skiffington joined the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center in
1995 and served as sewing instructor for the summer Sports Campers.
While in this role she taught children a valuable skill that helped
to bridge the generation gap between their grandmothers and themselves.
After teaching sewing, Mrs. Skiffington was hired as the Proshop
manager and buyer, then advanced to customer service supervisor
and finally was promoted as director of membership services.
Currently, she has held her position as Business Manager since
April, 2005.
Prior to joining the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center, Mrs. Skiffington
worked as a Mothers Day Out Director at First Baptist Church
in Brandon where she managed a staff of 12 employees and 70 children.
Additionally she has a degree in Fashion Merchandising from Florida
State University and served as a Home Fashions Buyer for 13 Jordan
Marsh Department Stores.
Mrs. Skiffington, a resident of Brandon for 18 years, is married
to Bill Skiffington. They have three sons Phillip, Andrew and Wesley
who all either volunteer or work for the Center.

Lesley Monahan
Sport
Camp Director and Fitness Instructor
Lesley Monahan became the
Sport Camp Director at BSAC in August 2005. She has more than 5
years experience in the Child Care Field. She was a Director for 2
childcare facilities while living in Denver, Colorado- one for
Pre-School and one for school age children. Previously, She Directed
7 on-site centers for the Kansas City, Missouri school district and
was responsible for opening 5 additional centers. Also, while living
in Kansas City, Lesley supervised 8 child care centers, each
licensed for 250+ children. Her experience in marketing, budgeting
and training are broad.Her goal is to see the lives of children
changed and positively affected by their experiences at the Brandon
Sports and Aquatic Center.
Lesley also is a certified instructor through the Aerobics and
Fitness Association of America. Prior to coming to the Brandon
Sports and Aquatic Center as the Fitness and Aerobics Instructor,
Mrs. Monahan worked as an aerobics instructor at the Lady of America
in Riverview.
Mrs. Monahan instructs a variety of aerobics classes including yoga,
kickboxing, cardio-circuit training, body sculpting, personal
training, sports conditioning, water aerobics, stretching classes
and aerobics for youth. Mrs. Monahan is committed to making
exercise fun for students of all
