Brandon
Dive Camp
The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center began
hosting the Kimball Diving Camp in 1967 under the direction of Olympic
diving coach Dick Kimball. Since that time, divers of all ages and
abilities have made Brandon their summer home.
Following in this tradition, the Brandon
Diving Camp was founded in 1989 by Joe and Pat Greenwell. Through
their collective experiences as both elite athletes and world-class
coaches, a highly successful training camp has been created. In
addition to the solid base of coaching experience, the use of innovative
techniques such as video taping of training sessions using TIVO,
and utilizing gymnasium facilities for improved physical conditioning
have been added to the format, creating a well-rounded approach
to diving.
The ability to communicate with divers of
varying abilities and skills is paramount at the Brandon Diving
Camp. Furthermore, the coaching staff is dedicated to the camp's
tradition of promoting the training and work ethic necessary to
give divers a strong foundation upon which to build their diving
careers in a fun environment.
At our Diving Camp we want you to accomplish
your goals as an individual and a diver. We guarantee that you will
go home armed with new and improved skills, dives and will be stronger
physically and mentally on and off the board.
The
Spotting Makes the Difference
Joe Greenwell is noted to be one of the top spotters in the nation.
Don't like belts, get jerked around when you are in the belts? We
dare you to compare our spotting and dry-land area. Learn that 305c
with no problem! Get those twisters down tight and we will get you
to stop pulling on those 205c's!
Housing
Divers are housed in the homes of club members and their friends.
The housing family provides breakfast and dinner and the club provides
lunch. A list of hotels is available to coaches and parents who
wish to attend any of the sessions. Please write or call for details.
