Tennis

The tennis program at the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center (BSAC) is marked with a history of competitive success. BSAC offers something for all tennis enthusiasts in the area. From advanced league play, to clinics for beginners, young and old, to causal husband and wife matches, the diversity of the program is one of its key strengths.

BSAC is one of few facilities in the area offering both clay and hard courts. Under the NEW direction of highly accomplished professional Gale Desrosiers, BSAC provides the perfect home for those seeking to improve their skills and enhance their enjoyment of this lifelong sport.

BSAC offers a variety of tennis leagues for you to choose from. We have traveling United States Tennis Association (USTA) leagues for both men and women. These are formal leagues, with the teams competing against teams of similar ability within the county. The winning team goes on to represent the area in regional competition and with further wins, the team may compete in national competitions.

The men's USTA level 3.5 and 4.0 leagues play on Saturday mornings. The men's level 3.0 league play on Monday evenings. The women's leagues have both day and night teams that play on Thursdays. The USTA leagues have separate fall and spring seasons and include singles and doubles matches. Additionally, on Wednesday mornings, the Center participates in the A League of Our Own Tennis League. Teams are divided into three levels of ability. These teams consist of five doubles teams each, and players are added to the teams only when a vacancy occurs. If you wish to be placed on a waiting list or a sub list for the A League of Our Own Tennis League, please contact the tennis department at (813) 689-0908, Ext. 24.

BSAC also offers numerous in-house leagues. The leagues are available for juniors, men and women singles players, and men's women's and mixed doubles players. Players are placed on teams with players of similar ability. All matches are held at BSAC. These leagues run from six to 10 weeks depending upon the number of players in each division. These leagues are the most casual and are a great way to help you improve your tennis game.
