The BASE students at Lithia Springs learned about famous impressionist artist Claude Monet from Paris who began experimenting with art around the same age as many of the students. The students learned about how Monet used art as a way to express himself which gave him the ability to create the beautiful pieces we still admire today. During the lesson, the children enjoyed learning about Monet and how he began his career as an artist around the same age that they all are. This made the activity even more enjoyable while the students made their own colorful vision with all different colored tissue paper that mimicked Monet’s own pieces. By completing this activity the students learned that they have the ability to express their own feelings by creating their own masterpieces.
