TRIDENT Treasure Gala – February 15 2020

February 5th, 2020|0 Comments

Dear Friends of BSAC, BSAC would like to thank you for your interest in our upcoming fundraiser, The Trident Treasure Gala, which will take place Saturday, February 15, 2020, at The Regent in Riverview. We anticipate an outstanding evening with more than 425 guests in attendance. The Trident Treasure Gala will be our signature event of the year. Guests and sponsors will enjoy a sit-down dinner and open bar, all while dressed in their favorite pirate attire! Guests will also be able to bid on unique items in our silent and live auctions. All money raised will provide scholarships for programs that are very near and dear to our hearts! One of our favorite scholarships to give at BSAC is for our TRIDENT program. Special needs adults are given the opportunity to learn invaluable life skills and receive hands-on job training. We are unique in helping this special needs community because there are not a lot of programs that offer services to adults who have aged out of school. Our TRIDENT participants become more independent, contributing members to society. They also have a lot of fun learning, exercising and growing with their peers when they spend time with us in this program. BSAC also offers free swimming lessons to at-risk children in an effort to fulfill our mission of youth drowning prevention. Children in Florida are especially at risk for drowning due to the high number of bodies of water in our state. Qualifying families are also eligible for scholarships to the BSAC After-School Experience (BASE).  Students have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular clubs at no extra cost, including robotics, arts & crafts, sports, culinary, community service, and more. BASE is located at our main location in addition to five Hillsborough County school sites, two of which are Title 1. Without the generous support of our sponsors, donors, and volunteers, we would not be able to provide the high-quality care our families depend on us for every day. Please consider becoming an event sponsor or donating a silent auction item. We anticipate this being our biggest year yet and look forward to working with you and your business. Ticket sales end Friday, February 14th.  For more information: www.TheTridentTreasureGala.com For sponsorship, please contact BSAC Director of Marketing, Carli Walko, at (813) 689-0908 ext 108 or For additional questions - contact BSAC (813) 689-0908.

Human Tinfoil Sculptures inspired by Giacometti

September 25th, 2019|0 Comments

Today the students at Bevis were inspired by Alberto Giacometti. Giacometti is a famous artist known for his sculptures of the human form. The kids had a great time choosing which of their friends to base their models off of. After they chose a friend, the students sketched stick figures then shaped tinfoil into the human form. After completing their masterpieces the students took them home!
