Summer is quickly approaching and the BSAC family is ready to go! On Saturday May 19th, thirty-five team members participated in an educational training program for this year’s Passport to Adventure! New and veteran employees alike worked together through challenging team activities to learn more about each other.
Shelby Johnson, Senior Director of Educational Programming, planned numerous exercises that focused on building trust and communication. This training seminar was not only fun and engaging, but also extremely informative on topics such as policy & procedure, safety and child care psychology. It’s important to know why children make the decisions they do and how we can impact their lives in a positive way.
“It was exciting to see our team together, interacting with one another and engaged,” said Johnson. “We look forward to kicking off Summer Camp with a great group of counselors!”
After receiving valuable feedback from our families, we are ecstatic to offer more field trip opportunities than ever before! In addition to training workshops, some counselors even tested out a few field trip activities to get excited for all the summer fun to come.
“We know the campers will have a great time at the upcoming field trips because we sure did,” said Jalen, returning camp counselor. “We’ve worked so hard to make this summer an unforgettable experience for everyone.”
Camp BSAC’s Passport to Adventure begins on May 29th with limited spaces available. We look forward to kicking off the week with our first theme, World Games. See you then!
