After serving on BSAC’s Board of Directors the past five years, Dave Brown has finished his term and is leaving the organization in a much better position than when he began. A longtime Brandon resident and current President of the Rotary Club of Brandon, Dave has seen BSAC emerge as a thriving leader amongst the non-profit organizations in Hillsborough County.
“I’ve lived in Brandon for so long, and BSAC has been such an important part of our community for years and years and years,” said Brown. “With all the challenges that BSAC has faced over the past years and all the accomplishments I’ve witnessed personally that Chuck Burgess and his team have made, it’s been incredible, and it’s been a very rewarding experience.”
Dave has seen major growth in our organization during his impactful term on the BSAC Board, including the completion of our brand-new Ken Hagan Community Learn to Swim Pool, partnerships with Hillsborough County Public Schools, the Board of County Commission, Hillsborough County Children’s Board and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department to name a few. He is also excited to see all the upgrades that are coming in the very near future, which has only been made possible through extensive fundraising initiatives the past three years, strong fiscal leadership, quality programming and community support.
“Dave has been an integral part in setting our vision for the future,” CEO Chuck Burgess said. “His leadership on our board and in this community has truly made a significant impact on more families than he will ever know. We have been blessed by his service and appreciate everything that he has done in all of his years at BSAC.”
What advice does he have for our current and future board members? “Chuck is going to lead the group, he’s got a great vision for things, and he’s going to need every board member’s input in that process,” said Brown. “Come prepared to offer up whatever you have available in terms of past experience to help Chuck move this organization forward.”
Dave recently received a major promotion at the Bank of Tampa. He is now the SVP Market Director, and will be central to South Tampa. We’d like to congratulate Dave on this new chapter, but most importantly thank him for his many years of cherished advice, guidance and counsel.
From all of BSAC’s staff team, Board of Directors and BSAC families, THANK YOU DAVE!!
