BSAC’s 11th Annual Casino Night Raises Over $63,000 for Scholarships

Over 450 local business leaders and community members attended BSAC’s Annual Casino Night on Friday, March 29th, and boy, what a night it was! BSAC was able to raise over $63,000 in scholarship support for families in need of financial assistance. These children will now be able to participate in programs including swim lessons, summer camp, after-school, TRIDENT (special needs programming) and many of our other great programs. The night was highlighted by amazing food, cool casino games, a great silent auction, lots of dancing and a ton of fun. BSAC Lifeguard, Rebekah Clark, Builds Readbox Library for Students.

Meet Rebekah Clark: a talented BSAC lifeguard, Girl Scout, and Blue Wave Swim Team Member who has made a lasting impact right here on our campus. With the help of her family, Rebekah created a mini library called Readbox, inspired by the Redbox video rentals located in popular stores in our area. “I started this project back when I lived in Maryland because I really wanted to spread literacy and encourage kids to read outside of school,” said Rebekah. “When I was growing up, I was home-schooled. Congratulations to Candy Corsi and Amy Moore, BSAC Team Leaders of January!

BSAC sincerely congratulates the January Team Leaders of the Month, Candy Corsi and Amy Moore. Both of these women have displayed a great deal of hard work and commitment throughout their careers. The BSAC Team Leaders are chosen based off of nominations from their colleagues. Candy Corsi was first introduced to BSAC seven years ago while working at Plant City High School. She met a student’s parent who was the Director of TRIDENT at the time, and was then asked to join the BSAC team. BSAC Blue Wave Travels to Savannah Georgia

After a successful winter training session, the BSAC Blue Wave Swim Team visited Savannah, Georgia for their annual travel meet in January. This is Blue Wave’s third year of participating in travel meets, having previously visited the Caribbean and New Orleans. Each year the trips grow in popularity among swimmers and parents alike.
